Adventure Camp – formerly Camp Sugar Bowl
Now in our 14th season
Donner summit is the place to be for summertime fun!
Each day is a new adventure.
Whatever your child’s skill level is, our experienced guides meet them where they are to build new skills and confidence each day. Sleep-away Camp is a great opportunity to build deeper friendships, self-reliance, and a deeper connection with the land. Our experienced counselors offer camaraderie, story-telling, games, night walks, yoga, crafts, or moving enviro films. Sleep-Away Camp starts on the Sunday evening before camp starts for easy drop-off. All food is provided, from Sunday night dinner through lunch on Friday. This camp is Covid Tier informed, and will cancel if needed.
Ages overlap to support the kids who are ready for the bigger adventures of the next age group up, or are needing to take things a little easier.
WHY ATTEND MULTIPLE WEEKS?
Repetition is how we build new neural pathways. Training in this way leads to empowerment and embodied knowing. We’ve seen multiple weeks increase skills development, environmental and social awareness, and really boost self-reliance and confidence.
This is a premium camp. To deliver real transformational experiences, we know you get what you pay for; which is why we bring in the highest quality guides, naturalists and educators. We strive to keep the camp costs affordable, while keeping the WOW factor and instruction at peak levels.
We use any proceeds earned to help support the significant no-cost, nature based therapy we provide for underserved, high-need youth; and scholarships for field trips for Title One schools from Richmond, Oakland, and San Francisco.
